SCHOOL-AGE BEFORE AND AFTER-SCHOOL INFORMATION

Before-school and After-School care is available for school-age children in a warm, nurturing environment. Your child will receive a drink and snack in the afternoon.

At Beacon Hill Preschool - Transportation is provided to and from the following schools: Blake, Cleveland Court, Carlton Palmore, Dixieland, Southwest, Jesse Keen, and Medulla Elementary.

At HighPointe Pre-K - Transportation is provided to and from the following schools: Chain of Lakes Elementary and Elbert Elementary.

Before-School Transportation—School-age children must arrive no later than 7:20 a.m. on school days to ride the bus. They  must arrive by 7:00 a.m. if they plan to eat breakfast before they leave for school.

After-School Transportation—As soon as school lets out each day, the bus will be waiting at the pickup line to pick the children up and bring them back to the center. Please let us know by 1:30 p.m. if your child will not be riding on the bus in the afternoon. This saves precious time in having the school, teachers, bus driver, and center attempt to locate the child. The bus does not leave the school grounds until all children are accounted for or reported as not on the bus. However after waiting an extra five minutes and the child does not report to the bus, the center will be notified that the child has not checked in and the bus will have to depart without the child. If the child is not on the bus at departure time and the bus has to leave, it will be the parents responsibility to pick up the child from their school. The bus cannot return to pick up a child who was late and did not board the bus before the designated departure time.

We are not responsible for any children who accidentally ride another bus home instead of getting on the correct bus. The school is responsible for the children until they step onto the bus. They are in our charge only after they are checked in by the driver. In order for the child to be picked up he or she must come directly to the bus to be boarded. Bus driver cannot leave the bus to search for children.

When the elementary schools are closed for teacher workday or during Winter and Spring Breaks, the center is open if you need care for your child. However, there is an additional full-day tuition fee. Activities are always planned.

For your child’s safety we must be very strict while traveling to and from events. It is a serious offense when a child behaves inappropriately on the bus. All children MUST wear their seatbelts properly at all times while on the bus. Please discuss the seriousness of bus safety with your child, as we will also.

FIELD TRIPS AND SCHOOL-AGE SUMMER PROGRAM

We have fun-filled summers with LOTS of fun-filled activities. Movies, bowling, skating, picnics, nature hikes, arts & crafts, field trips and many other events to keep our summer camp kids happy. Every school-age child must have a signed and notarized field trip permission form on site and up-to-date emergency contact information in order to participate.

There will be an extra cost for skating, movies, bowling, etc. It will be a nominal fee that will have to be paid separate from tuition fees during the summer months. (These fees will need to be paid in cash and in advance for every event.) Note: Children who have any kind of behavior problems while on field trips may be permanently suspended from further trips away from the center.

Parents are always welcome to accompany us on field trips. In fact we encourage it!! Please contact the Director for more information.
